cs 6k was up 3 days ago on new file from wisin_23… b3v & charlie

All boxes currently up on DN, only cs 4-5-6 down on b3v

The only major manufacturer currently down on b3v is cs 4-5-6.

new file up for cs 6100, 7000, 8000, 8100

why is there a new file? isn’t the old file still working? anyway, file posted yesterday.  probably for b3v.

Now possible to convert coolsat to skyview

No news on how good file support is on skyview…  Not for the faint of heart.  Use at your own risk…

cs 7100 also available under upgrade program

The new announcement from the coolsatusa site (as it is today–June 10, 2008), makes the upgrade available for cs owners who want the 6100 and now the 7100.

In fact the quality of the coolsat product is outstanding.  Even the cs 6000 has a very user-friendly interface, is easy to understand and logically laid out.  The quality of the picture on the coolsat is outstanding.  Compared with the captive works 800 I switched to, I would say the default settings of coolsat shows a superior picture, and it is easier for a user to alter the picture settings with the coolsat than with captive works–although possibly after some fiddling with the cw settings it would be possible to get a picture that is equally good.  Both the cs 6000 and the cs 7000 appear to me to provide far superior picture quality out of the box than the cw 800.

However, recent support issues with the flagship coolsat products (the HD 8000 and 8100) indicate that the support issues (for the cs 4000 5000 and 6000) are not a fluke and represent significant difficulties with the coolsat support community–generating even more doubt as to the long-term viability of coolsat and the wisdom of purchasing or upgrading to coolsat products.

The amount to send with your early-model coolsat receiver is:  $79 to exchange for the cs 6100, and $119 to obtain the cs 7100.  The list price for the cs 6100 is $79, and the list price for the cs 7100 is $159.  Therefore the act of sending in your previous model cs receiver represents about $40 of value based on the list price.
